Docu-concert about 3 generations folk musicians

Echo brings together 3 generations of folk musiciansGriff Trio went with young folkies of the current folk scene to some pioneers of the Belgian folk revival in the 60s and 70s. Their meetings were filmed. You can see them play together and exchange thoughts about tradition. They made a docu-concert out of that material, a performance in which documentary and live music merge

A nowadays tribute to the pioneers of yesterday, and to the folk of tomorrow.

The visited pioneers are Hubert Boone, Herman & Rosita Dewit, Marc Malempré, Alfred Den Ouden and Marc Hauman & Ann Heynen.

The young folkies are Laris D’Hose (bass), Pepijn De Pauw (accordion), Tiemen Kreupeling (bodhrán, violin, bouzouki), Marie Temmerman (vocals, violin) and Hannelore Valentin (bagpipe, musette, flute, vocals).

Griff Trio consists of Raphaël De Cock (vocals, whistle, uilleann pipes), Rémi Decker (vocals, whistle, pastoral pipes) and Liesbet Marivoet (vocals, flute, cornemuse).

Echo is a project by Westelfolk, Merodefestival and Griff Trio, with the cooperation of Music Clubs ‘t Ey & ‘Nouter Club.
